I Launched a New Website!

I launched a new website! TL;DR: It's a work-in-progress directory of various Catholic prayers in English and Latin, saint biographies (VERY work-in-progress), and hopefully more! You can find it here!

Now that the summary's out of the way, what have I built?

I call her: Sacre Pagina (dot net). The name is derived from the Latin for "Sacred Page" and is, like mentioned above, a static directory of various Catholic prayers in English and Latin, saint biographies, and so much more I haven't been able to get to yet.

Why I built this

If you're also a Catholic or just religious in general, you'll get this one.

You ever try to look up some prayer online and all the sites are just filled with ads, popups, donation links, and just general bloat before you can even see the prayer? Well, that there is your reason!

Sacre Pagina is the opposite of that. Inspired by this Luke Smith video demonstrating web bloat, I just took a HUGO template, HUGO being the driver of this very site, and just started writing every prayer I knew. After a while, a small directory of prayers had collected and I just decided to expand it.

The vision

Currently there's only really just a bunch of the essential prayers and one saint biography up. I have so many other cool plans for it I just haven't gotten around to yet. I'd like to add a liturgical calendar, guides on different devotions, or whatever I think would be beneficial to the public. If you're also Catholic (or just know stuff about the faith), I'm very much open to contributions, and if you don't program but have an idea, let me know.

End

I don't have too much left to say about this. Again, the site is still in a very early stage but I hope to flesh it out more as time goes on.
